Designed for hospitality and education
applications
IWE1700-An(S) is a 802.11b/g/n outdoor surveillance AP/Bridge. It is designed with high output power up to 1/2W peak power. With die-cast weather proof housing and IP65/67/68 approval, the IWE1700-An(S) can work under all rough weather conditions. The b/g/n compliant and mesh mode design enables it to be deployed into a high-bandwidth mesh network to ensure the video & voice transmission smooth and uninterrupted. Besides, it can be deployed into long-range high-bandwidth bridging for linking two or multi-points. With 2 LAN ports and integrated 12V DC power designed enables it to connect with IP CAM through LAN port easily and supply 12V DC power output for IP CAM or input power from solar power system.
So it’s an ideal solution for outdoor wireless IP surveillance applications, such as hotel, resort, campus, community, transportation, factory, river, dam, and mountain monitoring. Price is more cost effective than other vendors, dramatically lowering your infrastructure costs and increasing your return on investment.
Single radio mesh network applications
IWE1700-An(S) series supports 802.11s mesh network standard for easy to connect with 802.11s compliant APs into mesh network. It’s benefits are plug & play, self-configuration, self-adaptation and self-healing. Only one AP in the mesh should connect to switch to access the Internet, the others don’t need to connect with switch or internal network. It can be installed rapidly and to expand existing wired/wireless infrastructure. The mesh feature also enables to keep Internet access always alive. So it’s ideal for the following applications :
- Easy expanding network – It’s easy to expand existing wired/wireless infrastructure without running cabling.
-
Temporary Network - Easy to set up and move to different locations such as conferences, business events, military activities, RV camps and camping sites.
- Mobile network –It can be installed on vehicles to link with existing mesh network easily at moving speed less than 20km per hour.
- Security and Surveillance – Easy to set up wireless surveillance installed around construction sites, warehouses, hotel and keep network always alive to provide real time monitoring.
IWE1700-An is a single radio AP with mesh mode. When mesh mode enabled it acts as an AP for wireless clients access and mesh linking with other APs around itself. In order to provide enough bandwidth for users, the suggested maximum AP number in a mesh network is around 20 to 25 APs. The real AP installed number will depends on the applications, wireless clients number and the minimum bandwidth requirements of each user.
P.S. Please refer to user’s guide for more guideline of setting
Mesh network utility and central control software
Besides web-based management for administrators to configure single AP, IWE1700-An provides central control software for administrators to remotely monitor the status of APs, firmware upgrade and configuration backup restore in the same subnet. In addition, it provides mesh network utility for administrators to easily control all the APs in a mesh network by setting mesh ID, mesh key and channel.
Secure authentication based on
industry standard
The IWE1700-An series can authenticate and
authorize wireless users in organizations,
enterprises, or public areas by the IEEE 802.1x
standard. It communicates with a backend
RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial In User
Service) server to see if a wireless user is
allowed to access the wireless network. It
supports complete security standard for different
mode, AP mode with WEP, WPA/WPA2,
WAP/WPA2-PSK with AES, WDS mode with
WEP, TKIP and AES encryption, Client mode with
WEP, WPA-TIKP, WPA2-AES/PSK, Mesh mode
with WPA2-AES encryption. Besides, in order to
prevent hacker from attacking when administrator
is managing APs through SNMP or Web,
IWE1700-An supports SNMP v3 and HTTPS to
authenticate and encrypt information to improve
security. It addition, it supports VLAN ID tag to
prevent clients’ data from been attached or stolen
during internet access.
Client Isolation for all APs in same subnet or one Gateway
In order to prevent hackers from attacking other users’ computers in hotspot area, IWE1700-An
supports client isolation for all APs in the same subnet or one Gateway. So the data of users in
hotspot will be more secured.
Easy installation and PC-Based central control
Through web-based browser of IWE1700-An, users can follow the step-by-step installation
instructions to configure it quickly. It is easy for administrators to set up through web-based
management or SNMP v1, v2c, v3, 802.1x and 802.1d MIBs. It addition, IWE1700-An supports
PC-Based central control software for administrators to control the status of all APs
in the same subnet and firmware upgrade. It is UPNP-enabled and supports remote firmware
upgrades via TFTP or HTTP file-base upload.
Wireless Bandwidth Control
IWE1700-An provides bandwidth control feature for WISP to limit the maximum bandwidth of each user. Therefore, WISP operators can offer different level of connection speed for different
subscription fees.
